Meet Miss Guillette. "I am so excited to be teaching second grade. I have been teaching for 12 years and absolutely love teaching children. I am eager to start teaching students at Black Ridge Elementary next year!"

Meet Mrs. LeBaron. She will be teaching kindergarten. "I live in Lehi. I love spending time with my husband and two little boys. I love to run, garden, and read. I have taught kindergarten for the past six years." She is coming to us from Hidden Hollow Elementary.

Meet Miss Wayman. She will be teaching fourth grade. "I'm so excited to start teaching at Black Ridge Elementary. For the last five years I've taught at Alpine Elementary (two years in fifth grade and three years in first grade). Last year I bought a home in City Center and therefore can't wait to teach in my new home town!"

Meet Mrs. Pendrey. She will be teaching sixth grade. "I have taught art and music and love both. I incorporate the arts in almost everything I teacher, including math." Mrs. Pendrey is coming to us from Highland Elementary.

School Update and Pictures #5

Our building is still right on schedule. The furniture has been ordered and should be delivered in July. Delivering and setting up over 800 desks and chairs, tables, etc. will be a challenging task. Luckily we will have great help. 

The power in the building has been on for a couple of weeks and the air conditioning is working well. They have just started laying the gym floor and bathroom stalls are being installed. It looks great! We can't wait for the students to come in the fall.

Our school is beautiful! It is exciting to see everything coming together. We are right on track to be moved in and ready for the first day of school in August. Before you look at the new pictures, here are some dates to put on your calendar:

This is Mrs. Woodruff. She teaches fifth grade.

"I came to Black Ridge from Pony Express Elementary. I live here in Eagle Mountain. I am very excited to be a part of starting this great new school!"

This is Mrs. Hall. She will be teaching first grade.

"I'm so excited to start this new adventure at Black Ridge! I graduated from Utah State in Elementary Education. I taught in Jordan District for seven years and have been in Alpine District for eight years. I taught kindergarten for three years, first grade for 11 years, and second grade for one year. I am a wife and a mom. I have two boys, 11 and 12. I love to read, run, travel, and spend time outdoors."

Meet Reon Cowan, our head secretary. Mrs. Cowan, her husband, and her four boys are "Old Timers" here in Eagle Mountain.   They have lived here for fifteen years.  As a family they like to camp, fish, hike, four-wheel, boat....basically they love the outdoors.  She also enjoys music, dance, gardening, and exercise.  When she has a quiet moment to herself she likes to read or play the piano.  Mrs. Cowan said, "I am so excited to work at Black Ridge Elementary.  I love being a school secretary and can't wait to meet the parents, students, and staff that I get to work with."

Taylor Ostler is our head custodian. He is from Orem, UT.  He is currently attending UVU studying emergency medical services to hopefully become a paramedic.  He loves being outdoors, going camping, bonfires, 4 wheeling, night games, going laser tagging, and hanging out with his family and friends.  He has been a custodian with the school district for around 7 years, starting out as a sweeper, to a day contract custodian, and now the head custodian of Black Ridge Elementary.

Our building is still progressing on schedule. The carpet has been finished. If you have driven by lately, you have noticed that curbing has been poured and the landscaping has begun. Here are a few more pictures for you to enjoy.

If you have not had a chance to fill out a Track Request Form for next year, please do so quickly. They are due to your current school by May 2. I will do my best to keep you on your current track for next year.
