Help Needed on August 14

Chinese Immersion

Office Hours and New Student Registration

Good news! The office will be open daily beginning Wednesday, August 6, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. We will hold New Student Registration at this time. If you, or someone you know, are new to our area or haven't registered your kindergarten student yet, please come in. We want to be ready for the first day of school!

If you are already registered at our school and are not receiving emails from the school, please send an email to camiannelarsen@alpinedistrict.org and we will make sure we have your correct email address.

Meet our Staff!

Mrs. Ellis is one of our first grade teachers. She will be teaching the English side of our Chinese Immersion classes. "This is my eighth year of teaching. I taught 2nd grade for the past two years and 1st grade for six years. I have four wonderful boys, ages 20, 17, 14, 3, and a newborn girl. I love hiking, reading, sewing, and playing with my kids."

Mrs. Edwards will be one of our 4th grade teachers. "I am an Eagle Mountain mother of four. I've lived here for 14 years and love it. I'm so excited to start this new school with such great leadership and staff."

Mrs. Baguley will be our kitchen manager. "I have been in Alpine Food Services for over seven years and I love my job. I have seven children and eight grandchildren, have lived in Eagle mountain for nine years, and I am excited to be at Black Ridge Elementary."

Have you seen the grass? Our grounds look beautiful! The sod should be on back field soon. 

Unfortunately the furniture will not be delivered until later this month, but the teachers are beginning to move into their classrooms.

This is Mrs. Thacker, one of our third grade teachers. "This is my first year as a teacher and I am so excited to be at Black Ridge! I love reading, traveling, spending time with my family, and having fun! This year will be a blast!"

Meet Mrs. Aranda. She will be teaching fifth and sixth grade. "I have taught for seven years and absolutely love it! I have three children. I love all sports, especially basketball. I enjoy camping and hiking too-pretty much anything outdoors!"

This is Mr. Woodbury. He will be teaching sixth grade. "I am very musical, and talented at that. I play the piano, the organ, sing and have even dabbled in choreography. I will be starting on my 11th year of teaching. It's my first year in Alpine School District. I spent nine years in Box Elder and one year in Jordan."

School Update and Pictures #7

If you haven't had a chance to drive by our school lately, you should! The grounds are really taking shape. Many of the plants and trees have been planted. The landscapers are doing a fantastic job!

You may have also noticed a decrease in the number of cars, trucks, and workers on the grounds. This is because our building is in its final stages. There is very little left for the construction crew to do. Now, it is up to the staff to get the remainder of the building ready for our students on the first day. You should have seen the number of pallets that were unloaded today with supplies-trash cans, staplers, tape dispensers, crayons, paper...What a sight! Now, to put it away...

Once we have our phones and internet turned on and computers and copiers delivered, we will open up our office for registration and questions. Please check the blog for updates. I also will begin sending emails once I have access to our students in Skyward.

Meet our Staff!

This is Mrs. Panter. She will be teaching kindergarten. "This is my third year teaching kindergarten. I live in Eagle Mountain with my husband and two daughters. We love to do anything outdoors: camping, boating, ATVs, etc."

This is Mrs. Worlton, one of our first grade teachers. "I'm very excited to be teaching at Black Ridge Elementary this next year. I've been teaching at Pony Express Elementary for the last two years. I have lived in Eagle Mountain for the last 11 years. I have two beautiful daughters, ages six and eleven."

Meet Miss Hone. She will be teaching sixth grade. "I love teaching! It is my favorite! This will be my tenth year teaching school and my ninth year in sixth grade. I am excited for this next year. We are going to have so much fun!"

This is Mrs. Farr. She will be teaching 2nd grade. "I desired to be a teacher since I was four! After kindergarten, I would immediately "play school" with my three year old and one year old sisters. This is my seventh year of teaching. My favorite occupation (even before teaching) is being Grandma to my eight grandchildren!"

This is Mrs. Peterson. She will be teaching third grade. "This is my third year of teaching. I have taught third and fourth grade and I am so excited to be teaching third grade again. I have been married for three years to my high school sweetheart. We actually met in sixth grade and fell in love four years later. We don't have kids, but we have a high maintenance fish named Roscoe II. I love traveling, reading, being outdoors and spending time with my family."

This is Mrs. Guerrero. She will be teaching third and fourth grade. "I am very excited to be joining the Black Ridge team. I've taught for nine years and have enjoyed every year of it. I live in Eagle Mountain and love raising my family here."

I am so excited about our building! Things are coming along so well that we won't be having another construction meeting until the last week in June. Hogan Construction is doing a fantastic job! We are so grateful for their hard work. Here are some pictures from my visit to the building today.
